IPad, 3G iPod Touch great, 6+ horrible

My favorite iOS plain text editor, which works great on my old tiny 3rd generation iPod Touch, and on my new iPad Air 2. But on my iPhone 6 Plus, its a joke. Its just a blown up interface directly from the small 3G Touch screen. The keyboard takes up 2/3 of the screen in portrait, and MORE than 3/4 in landscape.
