Nebulous Notes App Reviews

Ive tried all the apps for writing my next novel and settled on Nebulous Notes. Why?: * excellent word search function, right from the keyboard - a feature sorely missing in most other apps! * customisable keyboard * seamless DropBox sync * TextExpander compatibility

The app dosent Work anymore .... Unable to open the app just the splash screen and Theniere good bye (ios6.1) Tanks in advance for your very very fast update

I love the way I can manage my notes on Dropbox in real time: I use it like a database! Very powerful search engine to find files and words accross all stored files. I did not use the macros manager yet. Bravo for the developers!

Since i update to the last version and update to ios 9 (on ipod touch 5G), on my notes i cant scroll down to see my entire document. So my notes are nonexistant !

WARNING: the software is not syncing offline changes: existing notes can be read offline, they can be changed offline, but with the next dropbox connection they are overwritten by the data in dropbox, so your offline changes are lost. The notes are opened by default on Mac0SX with TextEdit, but TextEdit cannot handle the given text format correctly, special characters like äöüß are sooner or later displayed wrongly and then also wrongly overwritten on the iPod. Same with Microsoft Word. TextWrangler e.g. can handle the special characters properly. There are some minor bugs I dont want to list here, too. In principle the use of a note app via dropbox is a very good idea, but I will check out the alternatives or wait until this one is working properly.

…why nobody is telling the world that this is a fantastic useful editor. Its my one (and only so far!) editor on the iPod and iPad with which I can edit _all_ text files on my Macs which I strongly hold on Dropbox to have them synced. All the other editors rely on a special directory. Would be great to see Sugarsync supported...

Best note taking and writing app for IOS and Dropbox. Its the app for the geekier ones.

Ive been using Nebulous Notes for more than a year now, and I couldnt praise its reliability and usefulness highly enough. From seamless text zoom, great interface customization (green on black anyone?), a powerful macro system to a very good Dropbox-integration this app stands out from all the other writing apps. And make no mistake: This thing isnt just for notes, as its author claims. I use it to frequently collaborate on longer pieces of text via Dropbox, thanks to Nebulous transparent encoding options. With the new MultiMarkdown-support that includes footnotes, I can now even start to sketch out scientific papers. Some seldom crash bugs (albeit without any loss of data) remain, and the interface is not as sexy as those of some of its competitors. Furthermore native support for rich text documents could boost compatibility with Windows environments, but apart from these small issues, this is one of the programmes I gladly give a five-star-rating.

...and my files should be available offline. Other that, its the best plaintext editor for me. Love the UI, it doesnt make me think, like other editor. Thx!

Landscape plus move from folder to folder within dropbox and Im sold.

I had two problems with the previous version of this app: no auto-save and no widescreen editing. But this developer reads his blog and his reviews and SWIFTLY fixed both problems, AS WELL as providing many more improvements! Originally, I rated this 2/5 stars because I felt that text loss was unacceptable. But now its a full 5 stars. Editing text in my Dropbox on the go has never been easier!

This is a great program, fast, great design, easy to use, does exactly what it says, and is only a buck. This is great, I bought it for one purpose and now I have multiple uses for it. Highly recommend to anyone who does any writing on their iPad. This makes it very easy sync across all platforms.

Tried a number of others and found this one to be the best from a text viewing and editing stand point. I am not so fond of the way you take files offline. When offline you dont have access to the folder structure and when online you cant see from the folder structure which files you have offline. Also it does not auto-sync all offline files when you are online.

This app is still to slow. But with every update it gets better and better love the new ui and the PDF functions.

Ive tried a few of the many dropbox compatible text creation apps and found this to be the most versatile (create and edit files & folders in any sub-folder of your dropbox) and stable. The many updates with added features and UI improvements have convinced me to give out the five star rating. Nice work!

I just love this editor, it does everything I want to do on the iPad pretty well. For small code edits, the macro bar complements the keyboard nicely. For longer blogging sessions, the UI can be completely hidden away, allowing you to focus much like WriteRoom does on MacOSX. If I were to change anything, it would be to let me change the preset "edit modes" to set up fonts and colors I like better, as well as, maybe, make up my own setting groups like those presets. Ill keep using this!

I have tried virtually all of the text editors available for iOS and Nebulous Notes is by far the best. It has the best interface and its integration with DropBox is brilliant. I highly recommend it!
