Nebulous Notes App Reviews

seeing improvements- lost again.

Review 4- down one star to three. All I can say is, Egads. The app cannot display the text from a number of TXT files stored on Dropbox, even those where NN was the creator. Easily find and open them in the Dropbox app, Readdles Documents. IAWriter. You get the picture. FORTUNATELY, NN hasnt deleted these precious nuggets of my lofty intellectual pronouncements. I cannot trust this beast. Review 3. The manner in which the app addresses Dropbox docs is puzzling. It still stores a history on the app which can be deleted in part or in whole. Not too bad. There are bottom ribbons galore, one which Ive seen but once. It is pretty solid despite the strange behavior of denying access to the bottom portion of the note. Until the fix arrives from the developer, it is not a major deal breaker. Despite the glitch, this feature is so very helpful for iPhone users that its value cannot be overstated. ----Older Review----- I cannot find the app which covers the "text"bases quite as well as NebNotes. It now accesses all of Dropbox. The Evernote function is a nice way to hand off a job which needs heavy lifting. Id like to see standard iCloud function but something akin to it is available within the app. I am satisfied with the function and layout. It continues to improve. Im about to abandon iawrite and cousins as this app matures. /-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/ I. Dont. Want. To. DOWNLOAD. Documents. From. Dropbox. To. Edit. Period. @99¢, I didnt lose too much.

Split-screen support would make it 5-star

This app has been my go-to notes program for more than a year. The cloud sync is great. It balances simplicity and functionality. It also stores things logically and so is a convenient way to view some of the pdfs Ive put in Dropbox for reference. But now that iOS 9 has the split-screen function, this app loses some utility. Heres hoping the developer can updated it for that. Otherwise, its been reliable and great.

I get It

Solid Dropbox. Files are easy to locate and to upload. The Pinch n Zoom in the document is GENIUS. Wide array of switchable option. Hasn’t stumbled or quit in memory. Use it EvErYdAy.

Pls add split screen. Thanks.

Split screen and it will be a perfect 5-stars review

Basic by Design

Ive been using this editor for a few years and it has been pretty solid. I used to use PlainText, but they sold it to a developer that ruined it. Reasons I use this editor: 1. Simple plain text. 2. You can create folders as many levels deep as you want. 3. Syncs with Dropbox. 4. Can navigate entire Dropbox folder hierarchy. 5. Developer continues to support app. Issues: Sometimes sync gets messed up and a new file is created with a date appended on the file name. Wishes: Search in a single document and find each occurrence of a word.

FINALLY, a writing app that does what I need.

After blowing nearly $30 on five different writing apps, each of which claimed to do more or less the same thing, I finally found one that actually works. Save your cash, guys—this apps the one to get. Now, you might be asking yourself what kind of fancy features or advanced functionality I was looking for that made the search so hard. Was I looking for bell and whistles? No. Did I demand a professional layout? Not really. Heres what I was after: 1. Access to text files on my entire Dropbox account (not just one folder) 2. Automatic document syncing. 3. A decent software keyboard and the ability to actually use it, without the screen constantly jumping back to the first line of the document. 4. Bluetooth keyboard support. 5. Fullscreen editing. Thats it! I didnt even demand Markdown or other code recognition (though its a real bonus, and Im glad its here). Youd think, what with it being 2016 and all, this wouldnt be too much to ask for—there should be dozens of perfectly functional writing apps jockeying for our attention—but after spending hours plowing through and summarily rejecting all of the top Dropbox-based text editors and writing apps, Id nearly given up hope. Thank goodness I stumbled on this gem! If youre a blogger or a writer, and you use Dropbox to coordinate your writing, then I simply cant recommend Nebulous enough.

Cant rename files for some reason, always a "bad request"

I am trying to use this as a development tool on my phone. It is a good editor but when I try to change the name it simply does not work it gets an error saying "400 bad request" it is very annoying and I will give the app five stars once this gets fixed

Perfect, only missing Touch ID

Other than not enabling Touch ID for passcode security, I think this is the best Dropbox synced note writing app available. Some apps are nice for shorter notes, but this rocks for lengthier documents.

Expensive for what it is

NN is a basic modal plain text editor. You can preview your Markdown but editing is in text mode. Dropbox support feels solid and search is fast but thats the only advantages of the app. The interface is ugly, cluttered and requires lots of taps to do anything. Theres an empty home screen that serves no purpose since you choose documents from a file picker, which reminds me of Windows Explorer. Tags are a joke, being just words shoved into the filename. Being modal, youd expect to be able to choose a different find for editing (monospace is handy with Markdown) and display. No such luck. All in all, I found this a decent effort but the current UX is too distracting to me to focus on content. Back to Apple Notes, I guess...
