I am using it to track my on-road expense together with Dropbox, so when the time comes to pay my bill, I can easily open the record on my PC. With the macros, I can make typing very fast, this is very good when you are on road.

Great note taking app that is loaded with extras. Love the integration with Dropbox. Thumbs up!

I use this app daily, I love its features....but...Id like to see it have the ability to store files in alphabetical order.

Ive had this app over 3 years now, and it remains absolutely robust. I had never gotten a crash or any problems with the app. I still find the stability of this app Fantastic, and have returned to the app multiple times because of its stability. Im pleased with how well Dropbox is integrated. The app also has the most diverse and useful nifty features Ive seen. (One Major thing..) I find that Nebulous does a "great job" of hiding its features for the sake of a smooth typing experience. The search bar is an example of this. It is hidden away in the Keyboard Utility bar aka macros bar (designated as $find), and is there when I want it to be. Personally, a search bar is an eyesore when not in use...I also like how you can hide the menu bar for better full screen typing. Pinching to adjust the font size, the editing options for printing or exporting documents as PDFs, and the customizability of this app are features that I have not been able to find, all included, in any other apps like nebulous I deleted similar apps because they either dont have, or have less editing options for printing / exporting PDFs. I have the apple pages app but find it unreliable. I got Nebulous when it was free, at first the app was a tad ugly, but later versions and updates has made it more appealing. Using nebulous is great, updates are positive and gives me a feeling that the developer is still interested in improving the app. (Maybe a dark-grey/black menu bar?) 5 stars for the search dropbox feature! Awesome idea! Note: if you enjoy writing in Nebulous but need .doc or .docx support, know that you can copy and paste from Nebulous into the app "Open Word" and get properly formatted Word docs! This is possible given that Open Word has a special keyboard with a dedicated key for pasting and other common operations. You wont find that in pricey apps like Quick Office Pro HD, or Docs to go etc.

syntax highlighting for Java would make this app 5/5. (I know the you have to basically re-write the editor from scratch, but it would make this app pristine!)

Great app, although I wish the tab spacing adjustment worked like it should. Pretty much perfect other than that, but I find it particularly annoying working in TextWrangler/Notepad++ at one tab width, and this stuck in another. Fix that, and its 5 stars!

If you want to download and app and go straight to work without a steep learning curve and be instantly productive, then get Nebulous Notes. And, after you use it for a couple of days, cough up the three or four dollars for the full app. Not to get rid of the ads, but to show your appreciation for an honestly great app. And, no. I dont know the guy who made it and Im not a plant. I did however get some great support when I emailed the author some questions. That alone was worth the price of admission. Im looking forward to some exciting improvements in the next version, too. It only seems to be getting better. Fantastic app and well worth the investment. Five Stars. Ten if they had them.

Always has been a solid app for me. Love the huge number of customization features.

When I first got this about a year ago, it worked very well: fast and efficient. Now, it is cumbersome and slow (IPAD2). It repeats keys and is usually a second or 2 behind, which makes it very difficult to type efficiently.

Of the very many writers tools available in the App Store, Nebulous gives the best bang for the buck and provides the most flexible functionality. Nebulous doesnt limit your Dropbox access to a single folder. All folders are open game, which makes this app ideal for Scrivener workflows. Add to that, TextExpander integration, custom macro keyboard, Markdown previewing, and universal app implementation and you have a very robust text editor to fit into your toolbox. Ive be able to set up the custom macros to use CriticMarkup syntax for on the fly editing, as well as MultiMarkdown syntax. A lot of work has gone into Nebulous and I am excited to see it continue to evolve and improve. Things Id like to see in future updates: Dark or muted theme for the menu and status bars (you can theme the text and background but the buttons and bars are stuck as blue on white); Syntax highlighting for MultiMarkdown in the manner of Byword for Macs or MultiMarkdown Composer pale asterisks and pound signs; Color syntax highlighting for CriticMarkup in the vain of MultiMarkdown composer. I realize some of that is asking a lot but Nebulous already sets such a high standard for an iOS text editor that it kind inspires ones to ask for even more. Great app. Keep pushing it to the next level.

Ive used this for years, and still do as its one of the best tools for writing notes and syncing with Dropbox. However its getting slower and it crashed my iPod 5G today while updating a longer note. Ive never had this happen to me (and Ive written much longer notes in the past). But I havent found a better alternative yet so I will stick with it for now.

For a long time, this used to be my favourite editor (even with it minor flaws) until it stopped staying in full screen mode through rotation. I use an external (Bluetooth) keyboard and I frequently rotate the device. The files bar automatically shows in landscape mode. Keep it full screen mode whenever I rotate, please! Then I will go back to 4-or-5-star review on the next app update. (I anxiously await each and every update!) More detail: As a deaf software developer, it is also my favourite collaboration tool. Somebody else is often holding the iPad while I am typing some communications on keyboard (in a pinch-zoomed larger font so everyone can read). But when they start to rotate the iPad (intentionally or accidentally), the files bar automatically shows, and interrupts the typing unlike past versions that kept working. Please, provide an option to keep the sidebar permanently hidden.

I was a big fan of nebulous notes and used it for work every day. But in iOS 9 its laggy to the point of being unusable. Shame. Im looking for a different note editor, and will have to migrate all of my work over.
